Grass Seeds Daily Check

Have you checked your dog today for grass seeds. Don't leave them in the coat or they can go through the skin and work their way into the body, leaving a nasty entrance wound. Once in the body they are very hard to get out and difficult to locate. They can make their way into the organs of the body and can cause serious damage or even be fatal.

It's well worth spending a few minutes each day at this time of year, especially around the face, eyes, ears, feet, between the toes and pads.

Spinone Mugs

We have produced two designs of mugs with Spinone images. One shows a white and orange puppy, and the other shows five head studies of different colours of Spinone with the words “this mug belongs to an Italian Spinone owner”. For those of you who attended the recent ISCGB show at Newark these proved very popular and a large number were sold, with all proceeds going to Spinone Rehome and Rescue.

If you were unable to attend the show and would like to purchase some mugs, or if you would like to order additional quantities then please contact Richard Bruce on richardj.bruce@tiscali.co.uk. The price is £4.80 per mug and there are still a few mugs available. Richard will make arrangements to have the mugs forwarded to you. Where possible, and to avoid delivery charges, Richard will be attending the Leeds Champ Show in Late July and also the October ISCGB show in Solihull in October, so he can bring any mugs ordered with him.

2009 Health Surveys

Health surveys have been posted out to all members and we have already had a good response so thank you to all who have sent in their surveys so far. If you haven't yet finished completing yours, please could you do this and return it to Cristiana. The date for return has been extended to 15th July. If you are sending it back unfolded, please remember that it will need a "large letter" stamp otherwise we have to pay a £1 penalty and make a trip to the sorting office to collect it.

If you are folding it check it stays within the 5mm width otherwise it will need a "large letter" stamp. Up to 100 grams is 61p first class or 47p second class.

The information provided will be analysed as before and the results published in our Newsletter and 2009 Yearbook.
